June 16, 1997
[Clearwater]---DUCTBUSTERS®, the international franchisor of indoor air quality businesses to HVAC contractors, has announced the sale of five new franchise territories within the United States. Indiana, Tennessee, and Maryland have been added to the list of states where DUCTBUSTERS® has a presence.
Ed and Brenda Utterback of Utterback Indoor Air Services, Inc. have purchased the franchise rights for the territory of the greater Terre Haute area in Indiana. "Were proud to be associated with the premiere duct cleaning franchise in the U.S. We see it as a natural extension of our current business. We can now address some of the health concerns of our customers," states Ed of his new enterprise. Eds grandfather began Utterback Sheet Metal in 1920 which has evolved into a thriving HVAC business.
"We are excited about our new affiliation with people who know the industry. As DUCTBUSTERS®, we will be the premiere duct cleaning business in the greater Annapolis area," says Wayne Beck, co-owner of the new DUCTBUSTERS® in Annapolis, Maryland. Wayne has purchased the franchise with his brother Chris, and will operate their new business alongside Beck Environmental Services, Inc., their existing HVAC company.
Dick Thompson and his son Marc have acquired the rights to the DUCTBUSTERS® Franchise for the Chattanooga metropolitan area of Tennessee. Their territory will also include three counties in northern Georgia. "Based on our conversations with the existing franchises, were excited about joining the team and anxious to get started!" states Dick Thompson.
As proprietors of the first non-company owned DUCTBUSTERS® franchise, Keith and Elizabeth Blanchard have enjoyed tremendous success. They purchased their Lafayette and Baton Rouge territories in Louisiana in 1992. They have recently expanded their area to include New Orleans and the surrounding counties. The Blanchards are involved in many high profile commercial IAQ jobs, including the remediation of large off-shore oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico.
Walt Disney World is the landmark project that John and Mary Ann Mudrick have taken charge of. After joining the DUCTBUSTERS® franchise network in 1993, they developed their area of Orange County, Florida with outstanding results. Since the acquisition of the Disney project, the Mudricks have expanded their territory to include the surrounding Florida counties of Seminole, Osceola, and Lake.
This expansion is in the wake of the sale of three franchises within the country of India, representing DUCTBUSTERS® first international endeavor. Linda "Woodie" Sayles, Vice president of Buster Enterprises, the Franchisor of the DUCTBUSTERS® network, states, "With the expansion of DUCTBUSTERS® network by new and existing franchisees, our dream of bringing clean indoor air to everyone is becoming a reality. It's exciting to bring air conditioning contractors together from all over the world who all believe in the same concept; if you're going to do a job, do it the best that it can be done. That's what DUCTBUSTERS® is all about, doing the highest quality duct cleaning job that can be done, no matter what the circumstances are."
